Kids Urgent Care FAQ

Do I need an appointment for pediatric urgent care?

No appointment is needed. Walk in any time we are open, 365 days a year, or check in online to hold your place in line before you arrive.

Are you open now?

If it is between 8 AM and 8 PM on a weekday, or 8 AM and 4 PM on a weekend, we are open now. We are open every day of the year, including holidays.

What age children do you see?

We see children of every age, from newborns through teenagers. Infants under 3 months with a fever of 100.4 F or higher should be seen the same day, so walk in or call us first.

Can urgent care test my child for strep?

Yes. Our on-site RT-PCR lab runs rapid strep tests with results during your visit, so you leave knowing whether your child needs antibiotics. We also test for flu, RSV, and COVID.

Can you X-ray a child for a possible broken bone?

Yes. Both clinics have digital X-ray on site with a low dose protocol for children. A parent stays in the room, and your provider reviews the images with you before you leave.

Do you put in stitches for children?

Yes. We close cuts with stitches or skin glue, depending on the wound. We also handle splinters, minor burns, and foreign body removal.

Should I go to urgent care or the emergency room for my child?

Come to us for fevers, sore throats, ear pain, rashes, cuts, and possible broken bones. Call 911 for trouble breathing, a child who will not wake up, a seizure, or a stiff neck with fever.

Will you send a note for school or daycare?

Yes. We print school, daycare, and sports notes during the visit, and we can send prescriptions to your pharmacy before you leave.

Do you take my child’s insurance?

We accept most major plans, Medicare, and Illinois Medicaid, and we bill your plan directly. Without insurance a basic visit is $119, with no facility fees.

Can you treat my child’s asthma flare?

Yes. We treat wheezing and asthma flares with nebulizer treatments on site, and we can start or adjust medication and refer to a specialist when needed.
