Can urgent care treat back pain?

Yes. Vitality Urgent Care evaluates and treats back pain with same‑day care, on‑site X‑ray when appropriate, medications, and referrals if needed.

Do I need an appointment for back pain treatment?

No appointment is required. You can walk in for back pain treatment at our Buffalo Grove or Lake Zurich locations, or book online if you prefer.

Do I need an X‑ray for back pain?

Not always. X‑rays are ordered based on your symptoms and physical exam. When imaging is needed, digital X‑ray is available on‑site at both locations.

What causes most cases of back pain?

Most back pain is caused by muscle or ligament strain, poor posture, overuse, or minor injury. Disc problems, arthritis, and nerve compression are also common causes.

How long does back pain usually last?

Acute back pain often improves within 2 to 6 weeks with appropriate care. Chronic or nerve‑related pain may last longer and require additional treatment.

What is sciatica?

Sciatica is pain that travels from the lower back through the hip and down the leg. It is commonly caused by nerve compression or a herniated disc.

When should I seek urgent care for back pain?

You should seek care if your pain is severe, worsening, follows an injury, radiates into your legs, causes numbness or weakness, or is associated with fever or bowel or bladder changes.

Can urgent care prescribe medication for back pain?

Yes. Providers may prescribe anti‑inflammatory medications, muscle relaxants, or other treatments when appropriate based on your condition.

Can urgent care refer me to a specialist for back pain?

Yes. If your condition requires further evaluation, we can refer you to orthopedics, neurology, pain management, or physical therapy.
